Watched-folder intake is a way of submitting documents for review by placing them in a designated folder in the customer's own cloud storage. An authorized connector notices new files and brings them into the review service, so teams can send work without uploading it by hand or leaving the system where their documents already live.
Teams that produce a steady flow of material — course modules, policy revisions, batches of generated answers — already keep it in shared storage. Asking them to download each file and upload it somewhere else adds friction and invites mistakes. Watched-folder intake removes the extra step by making a folder itself the submission point.
Four elements define it.
A designated folder. The customer chooses a specific folder for review intake. Only that folder is watched; the rest of their storage is not.
An authorized connection. The customer grants the review service access through the storage provider's own authorization process. That grant is scoped, visible to the customer, and revocable at any time from their side.
Change detection. When a new or updated file appears in the folder, the connector picks it up. Nobody needs to announce the submission.
Normal handling on arrival. Each file becomes a document in the customer's workspace and follows the same intake, quoting, and review path as any other submission.
Two misunderstandings are common. The first is that the service gains broad access to the customer's storage; a properly scoped connection reaches only the designated folder. The second is that anything dropped in the folder is reviewed immediately; arrival starts intake, and review still waits for the usual commitment.
Intake friction decides whether review happens at all. When submitting takes effort, people skip it for "small" changes, which are often the risky ones. A watched folder makes review the default path for material that already lives in shared storage, without widening what the provider can reach.
QueryTek Review supports watched-folder intake through authorized repository connectors configured for a customer tenant. New files in the designated folder become documents in the client workspace and continue through the normal review cycle. Completed work is retrieved through the Review portal. Connector setup is handled during onboarding.
